Evaluation and Following is an area that works to seize and measure the curricular,
institutional, interpersonal and social impacts of the Conectar Igualdad Program.
Institutionally, it is composed by the Ministry of Education – the Investigation and
Experimentation Educ.ar S.E. Unit and the OEI.
Evaluation and Following are key tools for the generation of information that allows the
feedback and value of actions in progress. The goal of this area is to report actions,
valuate progresses and look forward to an evaluation, monitoring and investigation
sustainable system for a pedagogic management of the 1 on 1 model (one computer
to each student).
What does the Evaluation and Following do:
• Monitors the arrival of the netbooks into the school community.
• Investigates the bonds between teachers, students and their families with the
technological tools and its contents.
• Documents and evaluates the change processes into the public high schools and
Teacher Training Institutes from all across the country.
• Reports technical and pedagogic difficulties, main progresses and challenges to be
solved in the following stages.
Who:
This strategy implies an interdisciplinary national team that monitors and evaluates
on site, in coordination with the provincial teams that are implementing the Program
as well. It also involves investigators from 13 national and one provincial universities
which intervene with their different evaluative actions.
How:
The evaluation strategy is organized by three major moments that are linked with
the implementation stages of the Program. The first implementation stage implies a
emerging strategies moment in which the technology mixes with the culture of each
province, school, neighborhood involved. It is the stage when the first approaches and
mail netbooks between teachers and students take shape. Therefore, it is crucial to
monitor critical issues of the Program such as covering, connectivity, naming of the
network administrators, technological floor installations and increase of the teacher’s
training.

First Report of Real Time Progressing
The first stage of evaluation of the Conectar Igualdad Program covered the October-
December 2010 period. Its results are available in Spanish thought the following
Report.
Actions in Progress
The following and evaluation team is visiting schools that have received their netbooks
and compiling the information necessary to know what is going on in every spot across
the country where the Program had reached.
In order to make the project durable through time, it is necessary to have a follow up
done, even when the process of implementation is over. It is likely to expect that the
evaluation can show evidence that can relate the transformations occurred by the use
of the netbooks with the spreading and integration of the 1 on 1 education model.
