Apart from the delivery of three million netbooks to the students from all public high
schools of the country, Conectar Igualdad sums up strong in-person training for
teachers: the Innovation Schools Plan. During 2011, this project will reach 3.000
teachers and 28.000 students from 40 public high schools coming from five different
jurisdictions.
The development of the plan has a main goal: to join the teachers in their
implementation of the 1 a 1 education model inside the classroom, while giving special
attention to the curricular areas and encouraging net and collaborative work at school.
In addition, there is an upcoming training stage programmed for the managing teams
from all the 40 schools taking part of the plan and a stage of lectures addressed to
the student’s families about the reaches and the implications of the Conectar Igualdad
Program; lectures that will orientate them on the accompaniment of children in their
correct use of technologies.
Considering school as an improvement unit, Innovation Schools offers an education
proposal according to each institution needs. In its first stage, teachers will be
accompanied during the class hours; then, they will receive support from the virtual
platforms.
This project has the objective of collaborating with the teachers in their first attempt
to introduce technologies on their classes and, when the introduction is done, it
encourages them to plan their classes having these new resources in mind. At the
same time, Innovation Schools will search for the training of the students so they can
grow as smart consumers and critical producers.
